Monthly meeting – April 3

The meeting will be a showing of Dan Jason’s film “Gardens of Destiny” about his Seed Sanctuary on Salt Spring, filmed there (see info below and click to see it at saltspringseeds.com).  A number of issues are raised in the film that could be discussed.  Ellen Rainwalker will lead the discussion afterwards.

We will also be giving out seeds to those who wish to grow them out for the Seed Bank.  We are asking people who would like seeds from the Seed Bank to reserve them ahead and they will be distributed there, along with the Crop Record forms and contracts for new people to sign.  (Contact Vivien Adams,  250-338-8341,
vivienadams1@hotmail.com)  This is not about curating seeds – we have a separate list of those seeds.  Someone from the curating team will describe which seeds are still waiting to be curated (not too many at this point)

Several people from the Seed Bank will explain the Seed Bank’s new Seed Curating and Seed Freezing programs.

There will be a Bill C-18 update for those of us who were unable to attend the NFU event with Jan Slomp at the Native Sons Hall last week.
