January Monthly meeting 2020

Our meeting was held on January 9th at 7:00 pm at Creekside Commons, 2202 Lambert Drive Courtenay. John Blythe was at the entrance showing us to the best parking spots. Parking is limited and sometimes you will need to park on Lambert Drive. Thank you John for being our parking attendant.

Our guest speaker was Mike Obal  from Bates Beach Farm.

Mike is involved with the Mid-Island Farmers’ Institute, Comox Valley. They will be offering workshops this summer and Mike will talk about what’s coming up.

He and his family have Bates Beach Farm and sell their produce at the Comox Valley Farmers’ Market.   He grows a lot of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and his talk will cover pruning, propagating and growing berries. Please come prepared with your berry-related questions for Mike.

After the talk there is time to mingle with members, enjoy herbal tea and cookies and also to renew your membership. This can also be done very easily on this website using paypal. There is also the option of mailing us a cheque.

You will also be able to sign up to volunteer at Seedy Saturday.
