Also included “How To Relieve Compacted Soil Without Tilling”.
In our wet winters the rain tends to compact the soil. Other reasons for compacted soil are; lack of microorganisms, repeated driving over the soil with passenger vehicles or equipment, heavy clay or fills and years of tilling. Learn how to relieve these issues by using seed balls. We will make seed balls appropriate for our locale, using seeds of plants that will fix nitrogen, send down deep roots to aerate and break up soil helping worms and water/air move. Ground covers and insectary plants (encourage beneficial insects) to improve the soil for spring planting Seed Balls can be used in areas being prepped for cultivation, hard compacted soil under parking areas, heavy clay or fill. The seed balls can be put out now and will sprout when conditions are right or you can wait until spring. (Keep sample seed balls to use on your own garden.)
