Saturday March 2nd 2013 officially launches the growing season in the Comox Valley: Mark your calenders! Stake out your gardens! And bring the whole fam damily to Seedy Saturday 2013 from 10am onwards.
The theme this year “Sow a Seed: Grow a Gardener” emphasized CVGSS’ commitment to local food security by way of seed saving and especially, education. Along with the traditional Community Seed Exchange and Horticultural Trade Show at the Filberg Centre in Courtenay, this year’s event will include activities and educational opportunities for all ages.
There will be a family/child activity area set up with hands-on garden-related crafts, stories and fun.
We’ll have qualified child care so parents can visit the trade show and presentations.
We’ve secured additional space to accommodate larger audiences for the popular speakers and panels.
Seedy Saturday is one of the primary fund raising events for the Comox Valley Growers and Seed Savers – allowing us to continue our mission to preserve and conserve diversity of organic, non-hybrid seed stocks in the Comox Valley.
