Sunday 21st September we visited three farms.
First was the Birds and the Beans where Natasha and Foster showed us around
Next we met with Heather and Simon at Good Earth Farm
And our third farm was Amara Farm with Arzena hosting a tour and lunch.
Each farm had a labour saving tool. The Birds and the Beans had a corn husker, tried out by one of our youngest members, using black heritage popcorn and other amazing colourful corn varieties.
Good Earth had a strawberry picking tractor, manually operated, which we saw when they let us loose in the strawberry patch.
Arzena demonstrated the use of the winnower after pre cleaning the dill with her pink gloves. We were all offered a pair of pink gloves to take home.
